Today is better than yesterday

I did not have a very good day yesterday. I decided to make an appointment with the chyropractor and could go at 11H30. It was very painfull but very relaxing at the same time. She was busy with me for about half an hour. I then stopped at a local shop to buy some fabric softener, came home and then went out again at 14H00 to fetch Robyn. I had to stop to draw money on the way back from picking her up as I had a hair appointment at 15H00. When I tried starting the car the thing wouldn't start! I was highly irritated as I had very little time. I phoned my mom, as Colin was in town, and she came and saved me. She dropped Robyn of at home and then dropped me of at the hairdresser. I was not happy when I walked back into the house after 5 as my house was a major mess! I got the hairdresser to put pink bits in my hair again. This time she first bleached my hair and then put the pink on. I am happy with the result, except that the "stripes" should have been broader. The hairdresser said that the pink would get lighter every time I washed it, at the moment it is a dark pink. If you click on the photo and enlarge it, you can actually see the pink!
I woke up this morning with a terrible pain in my back. It feels bruised and everytime I sit for a while it stiffens up. Anyway, I am going back for another session with the chyro tomorrow, so hopefully it will be a lot better after that. I obviously told dear hubby that I couldn't possibly clean up with such a sore back and that they would all have to do it tonight! To tell you the truth I would rather have no pain!

Andrew was "very" sick this morning and didn't go to school so I had to take him with me to scrapbooking. He was actually very good and didn't bug us too much. I did this layout this morning. Very happy with it, but afterwards I had no inspiration to do another layout and just sat and chatted to the ladies. Another Becky Higgins sketch.

Richard came home early today so I was very happy to send him of to fetch Robyn at school! I really do not enjoy driving, specially not in this heat!

It is an extremely hot day in Cape Town today (again) and I can't wait for winter to start. Thank goodness the aircon is fixed!

Last week

I have been "trying" to post for quite a few days now, and eventually got some time tonight. It has been rather a busy week! I haven't done any scrapping since last year and my friend invited me to play at her house on Thursday. I did 2 double layouts and 1 single page.
My daughter had her first informal lesson in October and this is the layout I did. The horse belongs to my sister and you must see the obsolute joy on her face when she is with her horse! Absolutely incredible! I took a photo of the single page, but it didn't come out very nice.

We took Chilly to the vet on Wednesday and he is happy with the progress. The only problem is that he started chewing on his toes and they were not looking very good. The vet prescribed some ointment that we have to rub in every day. I phoned the vet again yesterday as the one toe looked like a stump and the other toe also didn't look too hot. The vet suggested that we put a plaster over the toes after rubbing the ointment in. The poor thing also became more and more frustrated and eventually didn't want anybody to touch him. I decided to put him into a "portable" bowl on Friday so that we could cart him around all over the house. He is now doing a lot better and has become a lot more mobile. It actually looks quite funny watching him jump around on one leg and climbing up to the top of his cage. He has also started sitting on his old perch again at night when he sleeps. Just 2 more weeks to go!
We went to our local shopping centre today to hand in some entry forms for a competition. The draw takes place on Saturday at 12H00. I am really hoping to win as I desperately need another car! But anyway, we will see what happens.
Colin has to make a life changing decision tomorrow before 12H00. He has been offered a new job and his current bosses will be making him a counter offer tomorrow. Please pray that he makes the right decision.
Oh yes, I also had a haircut this week. I couldn't stand the long hair anymore!
Anyway, between job offers, school holidays and life, I had a very busy week and tonight I will just veg in front of the TV. Have a lovely week!

Prams and hair?

We decided to go shopping for a pram yesterday for our soon to be born grandchild. Michael and Allisen went with us, but basically left it up to us to decide on which one. (We do have loads of experience I suppose!) We first went to Ackermans baby company and saw the one as shown below, but the dear hubby first wanted to see what there was at the other shops. We walked all the way to the other side of the shooping centre and ended up going back to Ackermans! It came in a box and I told Michael that he had to put the pram together when we got home so that I can take photos! He did! This is what it looked like when he pulled it out of the box, but he kept on standing with his back and bum to me while I took photos.
Completely assembled with the soon to be mom and dad! Oh yes, and Andrew had to get himself in the picture!
I had a hair appointment last week and was very tempted to cut it all of as I am really suffering with the heat, but anyway decided not too and as a compromise decided to put pink highlights in. I was rather dissapointed as I expected the pink to show up more, but you can decide.
Not very pink at all, except when I stand in the sun.
I did workshops at the after care down the road this morning. There were 79 kids and we made the frames with groups of between 7 and 17 kids. I think the kids enjoyed it, but I was exhausted afterwards, the standing kills me! At least now I have a bit of spending money again! I also have workshops on Wednesday and Friday mornings, but with a lot less kids.
Other than that there is not much to report, we are just wilting in the heat. Thank goodness for air conditioners!

Busy day

My day started super early today. I got up at 6 as I took my mom to the airport. Left home at 7 and sat in the traffic for 30 minutes to do about 5 kms! Thank goodness I don't have to sit in traffic every day! Anyway, I got her to the airport on time and she is off to Port Elizabeth for my nephews wedding. I then had to rush from the airport back to Brackenfell for my hair appointment at 9H15. My hair is now short and I am very happy with it. It is going to be much easier to handle and also much cooler in this terrible HOT weather.

After my hair appointment (11H30) I popped in by a friend for a visit and admired all her lovely new paper. Can't wait to go scrapping tomorrow, even took a photo of my gorgeous 21 year old so that I can scrap his birthday pages! Now I must just get it printed.

After that off to the shop to do a bit of grocery shopping for supper - threw in 2 cute little green bins for my scrapping room, and then fetched the kids from school. I spent most of the rest of the afternoon with my old colleagues, having coffee and eating chocolate eclairs - Yummy! Then back home to cook supper - unfortunately we had load shedding and could only start cooking after 6H00. All in all a lovely busy day!
