Christmas photo shoot

These photos were to cute not to share!I was motivated to take these photos when I found a "Countdown to Christmas" in one of my scrapbook books. I then obviously had to organise a very quick photo shoot as it is already the 26th of November! Robyn and I went shopping for red T-shirts and a christmas hat when we found this little "pet" christmas hat. Obviously just had to have it. Robyn had to hold Scruffy as the silly dog kept on turning on his back!

Jessie was even more difficult to photograph, so I had to settle for this side view of her. The hat is a bit small for her.
The inspiration for this photo came from the December 2009 CK magazine. It was great fun, and a lot of moaning and groaning. I think Colin's "smile" is more of a grimmace! Michael was also complaining big time because he said his back was sore. We only managed this one photo.
Another one inspired by CK. Unfortunately my family members are a bit bigger than the example in the magazine and we had to improvise!
And then the normal one. Jessie was in the 1st photo, but she gave Richard a huge lick in the mouth and he just had to let her go!

We also took individual photos as I found the most gorgeous leather frames to hang on the Christmas tree, and I want to put a photo of each of us in it.

I hope you enjoy our photos as much as we enjoyed having them taken!

Have a great day!

Christmas & Holiday

We decided to put our Christmas tree up before our holiday this year. Colin checked the lights under duress and we ended up having to buy a new set of lights. I think checking the lights is always the worst part! Untangling especially! After that he didn't have a choice but to put the tree up as Andrew nagged him a lot. The kids had great fun putting all the decorations on. This photo was taken on Christmas eve.
I started collecting the Woollies Christmas bears when Andrew gave me one as a gift 3 years ago. I quite like the 2008 one. It is called Mr Chuckles and looks rather different. We will see how big the collection becomes over the coming years! It is fun teddies to have as they only come out at Christmas time!
An action photo I took when we went for a early morning walk during our holiday. I was rather pleased with the result. I love the sea (to look at, not to swim in) and I actually took a lot less photos than what I planned on taking.
My sister took this photo of us. It does look rather like two elderly people relaxing on a bench, but anyway. Check my lovely green "mock" crocks! I hate the shoes, but they are perfect for walking on the beach. I walked in them and then immediately took them of when we got back to the caravan, they are far to ugly to be seen in public with.

Isn't it just stunning! We would like to go for Christmas next year and definitely for longer than just a week. This is the view as you walk back towards the caravan park.
It was a lovely holiday. Robyn asked me every morning "Mommy what are we doing today?" My standard answer was "As little as possible." Camping holidays are the best, as you don't have to stress too much about cleaning up - whatever gets spilled in the tent goes right through the groundsheet into the sand - and the food is also very easy to do. Salads, braais, etc. Oh yes, and don't forget the potjie! Will post some more photos tomorrow.
We visited a new church today. It is very small and we know about 75% of the people already. I really felt very comfortable and loved! Because we know the people most of them came and hugged us - it was actually rather emotional for me as we have known some of the people for about 14 years, and haven't seen them for a while. We are difinitely going back again on Sunday!
Merry Christmas to all of you! May the Lord bless you today and in 2009!

Christmas

This is a photo of all the people that had Christmas lunch at our house!

We started the day by waking Andrew up after 8h00 as the poor child had so many late nights that he couldn't wake us up at his usual 5 am! Quickly opened all our presents and then went of to church. Had a lovely time in church and then it was home again to prepare our house for the crowd!

It is always a lot of work having such a huge amount of people, but was so totally worth it at the end of the day as everybody had a good time. Our lounge was back to normal at about 9 pm last night, but we really had a good day.

Colin gave me a lovely pair of gold earrings, Michael and Richard gave me books, Robyn gave me the Freshlyground CD (juck!) and Andrew gave me a vase. And I also got LOTS of chocolates! I asked for the CD as I liked the Potbelly song on it, not knowing that the rest of the CD would be rather "weird".

Anyway, now we have to wait a whole year for the next one!

A new ring

I know it has been quite some time since my last blog, but ..... I actually can't think of any excuses, so please forgive me. It has been a busy past week, with lots of Christmas shopping and just being on holiday. I took the kids to go and watch "Surfs Up", very cute, and other than that it was just rushing around. I bought that new pillow that Homemark is advertising, you know the one with the soft springs? Anyway, I haven't slept properly for two nights - since we bought it of course! Thinking of taking it back ..... I am a very miserable creature when I don't get enought sleep! The good news is that we are basically finished with our shopping!

I have been wanting a new wedding ring for quite a while now, a diamond ring set in white and yellow gold. Well ..... I finally got it on Wednesday and I am very happy with it!!! Now I can wear it with both gold and silver jewellery - very important you know!

I've had a few swims in our pool and I am really glad that we got it, it is just so lovely being able to go into my own back garden to swim, and not to have to schlep all the way to the other side of Brackenfell. And obviously it is very private - nobody around to see my wobbly bits!

Colin will be on holiday from tomorrow afternoon - GREAT!!! I really enjoy having him at home!
