Today is better than yesterday

I did not have a very good day yesterday. I decided to make an appointment with the chyropractor and could go at 11H30. It was very painfull but very relaxing at the same time. She was busy with me for about half an hour. I then stopped at a local shop to buy some fabric softener, came home and then went out again at 14H00 to fetch Robyn. I had to stop to draw money on the way back from picking her up as I had a hair appointment at 15H00. When I tried starting the car the thing wouldn't start! I was highly irritated as I had very little time. I phoned my mom, as Colin was in town, and she came and saved me. She dropped Robyn of at home and then dropped me of at the hairdresser. I was not happy when I walked back into the house after 5 as my house was a major mess! I got the hairdresser to put pink bits in my hair again. This time she first bleached my hair and then put the pink on. I am happy with the result, except that the "stripes" should have been broader. The hairdresser said that the pink would get lighter every time I washed it, at the moment it is a dark pink. If you click on the photo and enlarge it, you can actually see the pink!
I woke up this morning with a terrible pain in my back. It feels bruised and everytime I sit for a while it stiffens up. Anyway, I am going back for another session with the chyro tomorrow, so hopefully it will be a lot better after that. I obviously told dear hubby that I couldn't possibly clean up with such a sore back and that they would all have to do it tonight! To tell you the truth I would rather have no pain!

Andrew was "very" sick this morning and didn't go to school so I had to take him with me to scrapbooking. He was actually very good and didn't bug us too much. I did this layout this morning. Very happy with it, but afterwards I had no inspiration to do another layout and just sat and chatted to the ladies. Another Becky Higgins sketch.

Richard came home early today so I was very happy to send him of to fetch Robyn at school! I really do not enjoy driving, specially not in this heat!

It is an extremely hot day in Cape Town today (again) and I can't wait for winter to start. Thank goodness the aircon is fixed!

Photos

We put up our pool again. Isn't this a lovely action photo of Andrew? He loves the water - must be because he was born in water. He uses the pool the most.
I am not really into card making, but decided to make one for our friends birthday. I am pleased with how it came out.
Enough for now, going to the chyropractor later and still have a lot to do.

Blogging again

I would actually enjoy doing the "one answer questions" thing, but too lazy to write them down and then type them again.

We took Chillie back to the vet on Tuesday and the poor thing had to have his leg amputated. The leg didn't grow back on at all and his foot was dead. He is managing amazingly well. My sister and I went to the pet shop on Saturday and bought him a new cage. It is actually a hamster cage, but perfect for him at this stage. The bars are much closer together, there is a few platforms for him to sit on and it has a lot of floorspace, but much lower than his old cage. He even climbs to the top of his cage again. He seems very happy. Also using the little stump when he climbs or walks. Last visit to the vet will be in 2 weeks time to remove the bandage. I will be very glad when it is all over.
On the baby front Michael and the mother is not seeing each other any more - just too many issues and arguments between them. Baby is due any day now and I am quite excited to see baby when it comes!

I went to see somebody from church this morning and felt very lonely afterwards. I went and wandered around a local shopping centre and did some shopping. Bought some stickers at Crazy Store, 2 t-shirts (on sale) and a sexy little number (not on sale) from Miladys, Chockies from Clicks and hot cross buns from Checkers. Did phone my mom inbetween all that to invite her to meet me for coffee, but unfortunately she couldn't make it. Feeling better now, retail therapy always does wonders!

I won't say to much about last week as it was a bit stressful, but I am back in bloggie land at least! My mom has now decided when they are going to move. It will be towards the end of March so I must book my plane ticket. Pity that where they are moving to is so far from PE as it would have been nice spending some time with my sister before flying back to Cape Town. Oh well, can't have everything I guess. Oh and I am helping my mom drive her car, that is why I must fly back. I think I will need a lot of prayer for the trip there as I am not crazy about driving.

It is going well on the home front - Richard started working with his dad and will be there for the next 6 - 8 weeks. Very nice experience for him and a regular income, well at least for 2 months! The other kids are well, I just had a revelation about Andrew this morning. I think that he is struggling to learn as he really has a problem with reading. The school offers tape aid, and we are going to speak to them about Andrew trying that out. He basically learns by listening to Colin, so I think it will help him!

Anyway, got to go. Speak again soon .....

Stork Party

We were invited to Allisen's stork party on Saturday afternoon. Here are some photos:
Some guests with soon to be great granny and granny.
I really enjoyed the way they dressed her up. I especially like the teddy on the back.
Some more guests. The lady in the middle makes the most amazing lemon meringue! It was still warm when we ate it!

Some more guests - looking very amused. This baby will be my mom's 4th great-grandchild.

Every time she got something wrong she had to take a sip of formula. The forfeits were actually very mild, she ended up just opening most of the gifts. She got a lot of lovely things.

The rest of the weekend was rather quiet, which is the way I like it.
Going scrapping this morning, but will really have to get some motivation as I could easily just veg today.
