Good Friday

Andrew, my gorgeous ADHD son is busy building himself a treehouse. He actually had another ladder that broke so he took a long piece of wood out of the garage, took it to our very patient neighbour who then cut it for him and drilled holes through the ends! And wala - a rope ladder! ADHD children are extremely difficult to live with, but I think their creativity makes up for it. Although, as you can see, our garden looks like a dump because of his creativity! It would actually be very nice if DH would buy some decent wood and help him build a nice strong treehouse.
My lemon tree has blossoms on it! I am very impressed, except that I promised my family that I would make them lemon meringue with the ripe lemons. Fortunately I still have lots of time!
I had a lovely morning scrapbooking and now just want to have a peaceful afternoon! Going shopping with a friend tomorrow and no it is for clothes not scrapping supplies! Drat!

Quick summary!

My latest Becky Higgins layout! I am very happy with it and it could easily become my "new" favourite! My sister got married in Australia in 2003 and this is the photos. I am also going to send it to her to look at. I am really starting to enjoy doing sketches more and more, must have been influenced by my teacher - thanks Stef!
Our "oldest" friends. We have known them for 26 years, in fact Colin and Terrance went to the army together! They were spending a few days at Goudini and we went up for the day to spend some time with them. It was a stunning day and we all had a great time!

Andrew in the far distant corner - just to show you how stunning the pools are!

Jamie went with us for the day. She loves being in the sun and also had a great day! She is a very good traveller and sits on my shoulder or on the back of the chair all the way their and back - I obviously take a lot of wetwipes with as she is not to keen on being potty trained! Fortunately our friends are also crazy bird people and their timney grey Casper was also their.

Colin protecting his eyes from the sun - isn't he just tooooo cute!

Somebody at school told Richard that he would look cute with "straight" hair. His sister was happy to oblige and this was the result.
It has been a busy few weeks, but also very difficult. Fortunately their is always hightlights no matter how bad you are feeling - I am still scrapping, so life can definitely not be that bad!

"Old" photos

Michael finished school at the end of 2004, and I now eventually got to his matric dance photos. I used one of Becky Higgins' sketches and must say I am quite happy with the result! The old photos are actually perfect for trimming to the suggested sizes. I am up to date with my 2008 photos and are now working my way back in time.

Besides scrapping I had a very busy day. Did my first class today for the new term and again realised that I definitely have to get more kids to teach! Will start working on that tomorrow .....

Blue, and oh yes, blue

Robyn went and had new elastics on her braces today and she chose blue. I am quite surprised as I thought she would actually add another colour to it, but anyway. She will be getting the braces put on her bottom teeth next time she goes. It is amazing how quickly teeth move, the change is already noticable!
I bought Robyn these cute slippers last week. I actually think they are adorable and wouldn't mind a pair like that for myself! She is very much into eyeore at the moment! I always thought that Robyn and I are not at the point where I can't buy her any clothing anymore, but it seems as if my taste in pajamas and slippers are still good enough for her!

Soaking up the sun

As you all know by now, my crazy bird loves the sun. I took her outside with me early this morning when I hung out the washing and she enjoyed climbing around while I was busy. I decided a little while ago to go and "survey the estate" and took her outside again. It is lovely and sunny outside, but also a bit nippy in the shade. She loved being outside and was not impressed at all when I came back inside again. While I am typing this she is climbing around on the burglar bars enjoying some more sun! Crazy bird!

I must agree with her that it is really lovely spending time out in the sun. I was amazed to see how much the plants have grown and how clean and vibrant everything looks. We have really been very blessed with all the rain, even though it is very cold it is still the best thing to make plants grow beautifully! Maybe I should go for a nice walk later ........

My weekend was very busy and we didn't leave home at all except to go to church yesterday morning. It was actually very nice just being at home for a change without feeling the need to rush around in the shopping centres or just visiting people. My mom came for a visit on Saturday afternoon and we had a lovely time just chatting and knitting. Friends came around yesterday afternoon for a braai and we had a wonderful time. And then we had some more friends pop in last night for a cup of coffee. This is what I enjoy - relaxing time with friends and family!
