Busy day

My day started super early today. I got up at 6 as I took my mom to the airport. Left home at 7 and sat in the traffic for 30 minutes to do about 5 kms! Thank goodness I don't have to sit in traffic every day! Anyway, I got her to the airport on time and she is off to Port Elizabeth for my nephews wedding. I then had to rush from the airport back to Brackenfell for my hair appointment at 9H15. My hair is now short and I am very happy with it. It is going to be much easier to handle and also much cooler in this terrible HOT weather.

After my hair appointment (11H30) I popped in by a friend for a visit and admired all her lovely new paper. Can't wait to go scrapping tomorrow, even took a photo of my gorgeous 21 year old so that I can scrap his birthday pages! Now I must just get it printed.

After that off to the shop to do a bit of grocery shopping for supper - threw in 2 cute little green bins for my scrapping room, and then fetched the kids from school. I spent most of the rest of the afternoon with my old colleagues, having coffee and eating chocolate eclairs - Yummy! Then back home to cook supper - unfortunately we had load shedding and could only start cooking after 6H00. All in all a lovely busy day!

RE : Reflections

Well, I spoke to soon! Forgot that Colin had to fly up to Johannesburg today and Michael had to be at work at 07H30. Sooooo, was up at 06H00, woke Andrew and Robyn up, made Andrew's breakfast, got his bag ready, took out our tablets, fed the dogs, made myself a cup of coffee, did not climb back into bed and took ALL 3 kids to school! It was actually not that bad, I took Scruffy with in the car, Richard drove as he must practice the silly K53, dropped Andrew off, the other 2, and was home again by 07H45. Not bad at all!

I am looking forward to going to scrapbooking this morning as I went and had a whole lot of photos printed yesterday and will be able to pick and choose what I want to scrap today! I always enjoy going to Stefanie's classes as we always have fun and she has great ideas! AND a lot more stuff than what I have!

Enjoyed aqua aerobics yesterday and will try and go 3 times per week!

Reflections

I decided to water the garden this morning as it is supposed to be a very hot day, and as I was watching the hundreds of cars passing our house with parents dropping off their kids at the school, I couldn't help but realise just how blessed I am to have a husband like Colin. I basically get up in the morning, feed the dogs, get our tablets out, check that Andrews bag is ready for school, make myself a cup of coffee and climb back into bed! Colin gets the kids up, puts Andrews clothes out, makes his breakfast and takes Andrew to the bus. And if Colin is away for some reason, Michael takes Andrew to the bus, and just by the way, he also drops Richard and Robyn off at the high school! I am truly blessed with my husband and my kids!

Of course then I started looking around at the rest of the world and noticed the guinea fowls running around at the top of the field and it made me think of the cartoon "Roadrunner" that used to be on TV long time ago - the guinea fowl were running just at fast.

I had Jamie on my shoulder while watering the garden and she was happily "cheaping" away on my shoulder and then I also noticed the doves and other birds on and over the field. Their life is just as peaceful as mine! I had to watch Scruffy like a hawk though, as he just runs if he sees another dog or cat and with all the cars I really didn't want a dead dog.

Anyway, I start gym today and must admit that I am looking forward to it. Hopefully the first time of many.

What a day!

Well, we are finally back from holiday and it has been rather an eventfull couple of days. We came home to a VERY GREEN pool and are battling to get it blue again. At least Colin didn't say I told you so! Anybody with some good advise out there? Andrew keeps on insisting that we buy some Blue 52, but we have invested such a lot of money in HTH already that we just can't do that. Anyway, I am sure we will be able to swim again soon, specially in this heat! Langebaan was definitely much cooler as the wind blows like crazy!

Robyn decided to cook supper tonight and she is still busy, hoping to eat before 9. I must admit that it is very nice when your kids start taking an interest in cooking, because it makes my life much easier, not liking to cook etc.

Scruffy was very happy to see me when we got home - dogs are really a mans best friend!

Can't wait for the kids to go back to school on Wednesday though, just imagine I can have some peace and quiet!

Oh yes, last but not least, we went and joined Virgin Active at Cape Gate today - I actually can't wait to start doing water aerobics. Something to look forward to!

Still on Holiday!

Hi there! Despite my best intentions of blogging while we are on holiday - I must sadly admit that I didn't do any. Colin's 3G card is just so slow and we have really been very busy just being on holiday. We are having a great time and I can't believe that we are heading home on Saturday! The weather here hasn't played with though and the wind is driving us crazy. We were only able to spend about 6 days on the water, but basically just chilled the rest of the time. I have started on my parents scrapbook about their wedding anniversary and it actually looks very good! Only a few pages to go! Colin and the "boys" went out fishing 3 times and were successfull twice. There is just no ways you can compare freshly caught fish with frozen fish from the shop! Colin reckons that he can taste the difference between the fish he ate fresh and the fish that was frozen for a few days - the tecture is different. Anyway it tastes great - I don't like fish that much, but even I now hope that they will catch when they go out!

How's that for a fish! It tasted pretty good too! And now I can also use my gorgeous "fishing" stickers!
