So many birthdays!

It was my mothers 70th birthday on 27 November, but they were away at the time. We went out to dinner on Friday night to celebrate a belated birthday. We went to the Cattle Baron and the food was excellent as always. My parents, my sister and her boyfriend and us all went.
My sister, my mom and I.

Richard also celebrated his 19th birthday while we were in Langebaan, so we had a tea and cake afternoon for him yesterday. I think that he thoroughly enjoyed it!

My friends gorgeous new baby. She is so beautifull and so peacefull.

Between the birthdays, cars and cricket it was rather a busy weekend, with very little time to just relax. The older kids are going of to the beach this afternoon for a church get-together and it will just be Colin, Andrew and I at home. Maybe we can do something interesting.

I bought a stick in winter with two tags on that said that it was a hibiscus and could either be lilac or white. Anyway, it is flowering now as you can see and I don't think it is a hibiscus. What do you think? It is very pretty though.

Have a good Sunday!

60's party

My brother-in-law turned 50 last week and decided on a 60's/70's party as that is the era he grew up in. We all had to dress up for the occassion!
My mother, 3 of my 4 sisters and I.
Colin and I - just check out the heavy make-up and glittery false eyelashes! Colin looked extremely good and everybody reckoned that he looked stoned.

We slept over at a guesthouse in Somerset West on Saturday night and spent most of Sunday with my sister from PE as she left again this morning. We all went and had lunch at a stunning little restaurant called "Manuka". Perfect place for children as you can sit under the trees and the kids can play. I took this photo as I just love the colour of the winter leaves!
All in all a very nice weekend. It was great dressing up and escaping from reality for a while and as always it was very good spending time with the family.

Fabulous morning!

I got a DW in this morning to clean my house - sheer bliss!! My house is clean and I didn't have to do anything!

I went and saw a lady in Stellenbosch this morning. She contacted me a while ago about us working together as she has a Fairy house where she does fairy parties, etc. We had a lovely chat and I suddenly realised that God's hand is firmly in this area as well! I told her about my thoughts in the middle of the night about doing scrapbooking stork parties and it was just what she is looking for! She is going to advertise my scrapping "services" with her stuff as she wants to attract the older kids (12 - 14 year old) market as well. I think we will work well together. I am also going to add some new ideas to my website. I was wondering how I was going to get into the Stellenbosch, Somerset West market, and here it is! For those of you with little girls - the venue is absolutely stunning, every little girl's (and not so little) dream! And for us that enjoys photography - stunning views of the mountains! I forgot my camera - typical!

Anyway, my party preparations for the weekend is done and I now have a bit of time to blog again. I won't complain as I am very gratefull for being busy with something I love!

Have a great day and be blessed!

Double booking

I just got another query for the 24th May. I am already booked, but isn't that great!! The Lord is really blessing us. Colin believes that things started taking off since we decided to do the School of the Supernatural at church. We had our first session last night and it was really awesome! First time ever that I couldn't get enough of watching a DVD teaching - imagine that!! I am very excited about the course.

Thank you for all of you who are concerned about my son. He is much better and started working again yesterday. I just hope that he will now look after himself properly and get his asthma medication from the chemist as soon as he needs it. He slept in the caravan again for the first time last night and thoroughly enjoyed being in his own bed again!

A question for you: Now that the DW isn't here anymore, what am I supposed to do with my dogs when I go out? The poor things are definitely NOT used to be left outside in the cold and the wind! Our kennel is also completely inadequate and we can only get a new one at the end of the month, so I might have to take a chance and lock them inside while I am out.

What? Housework?

This is a photo of the party I did on Friday. Kids ages ranged from 6 to 12 and it was fun! I would rather do this than work in the corporate environment any day!

Yep it is official! As from 1 May (nogal Workers Day) I am officially the maid in the house. After having a full time domestic worker for the past 3 years, I now have to do it all myself. It is seriously going to cramp my social life! The only day this week that I will be home for the whole day is Thursday, and I am supposed to prepare for the weekend parties. But anyway, we will have to see how it goes. I already told the kids that they are responsible for cleaning their bedrooms and caravan (in Michael's case). So far I am finding just doing the washing a full time job!

We didn't have a very interesting weekend at all. Spent a lot of time organising my house the way I want it, sorting out cupboards etc. I can now see how half the maid really worked. We went to Rugby on Saturday and that at least was fun, although Colin actually got tickets to "entertain" one of his clients. The client didn't talk business at all, so that was fine. When Colin's section at work has a turn to get tickets they usually invite the clients with their wives, with the result that I also get to go.

That was it - boring, boring, boring!
