I had very good intentions of getting up at the same time as Colin this morning, but alas, didn't work and I only woke up after 8! Then it was watering the garden, doing washing and all those other horrible things that just has to be done on a Monday. I really didn't feel like cleaning house as such, so I roped the kids into helping. My sisters son is really good at cleaning - I think I must adopt him! Mine are not that great, but beggars can't be choosers.
Anyway, I want to go and do a few things this afternoon - all by myself - and decided that we will all have omeletes for supper. Kids love it and it is nice and simple. I haven't done any scrapping since the last Tuesday of last term and can't wait to get started again. I want to go and browse in the Scrapping shop down the road for some new goodies. This particular shop offers an incentive that when you buy 6 times for more than R150 at a time, you can choose any layout for free. I am on my last block so can't wait to choose a layout! Also want to see if they have anything new. After that I am going to pop in at a friend to look at a new catalogue for jewellery. And that will be my afternoon.
Richard has to go for another gastroscopy tomorrow - please pray for him. I really hope that the doctors will now find out what is causing his stomach complaint as I am really fed up with it already. It has been a year you know!
Anyway, places to go, people to see .....

Good Friday
Andrew, my gorgeous ADHD son is busy building himself a treehouse. He actually had another ladder that broke so he took a long piece of wood out of the garage, took it to our very patient neighbour who then cut it for him and drilled holes through the ends! And wala - a rope ladder! ADHD children are extremely difficult to live with, but I think their creativity makes up for it. Although, as you can see, our garden looks like a dump because of his creativity! It would actually be very nice if DH would buy some decent wood and help him build a nice strong treehouse.
My lemon tree has blossoms on it! I am very impressed, except that I promised my family that I would make them lemon meringue with the ripe lemons. Fortunately I still have lots of time!I had a lovely morning scrapbooking and now just want to have a peaceful afternoon! Going shopping with a friend tomorrow and no it is for clothes not scrapping supplies! Drat!

Why did we have kids?
It is a question I ask myself from time to time, but specially this morning when it took us forever to get Andrew ready for school! He is totally hyperactive and a simple activity that would take other kids 2 minutes to do can take forever. It took him about ten minutes to put his shoes on! We won't even talk about getting up, eating breakfast, etc. I suppose they do give us a lot of love and pleasure as well, but sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it.
It seems as if I will only get to blogging about once a week. Between parties, classes and preparation my days are rather full. Will see how it goes.

Peace and quiet
I had to take the kids to school this morning as Colin had to be in Stellenbosch early and Michael has training on Tuesdays and also has to be at work early. Actually I am just a passenger until we get to school as Richard is still practicing his driving skills big time! Anyway the 5 of us left early (Richard, Roby, Andrew, Scruffy and myself), actually not that early because Andrew's bus was waiting when we got there. Dropped Andrew of and then had to do the 2 km drive to the high school. Traffic was not too bad today and the trip went very quickly! Scruffy and I was home again by 7H45.
I am sitting here blogging and it is so lovely and quiet in the house so early in the morning. All the birds are busy eating, the maid is somewhere down the passage and all is right in the world! I can see a bit of the garden through the window and it is so gorgeous - the leaves moving gently in the breeze!
Anyway, just an update on the pool - I phoned the Hypermarket yesterday and spoke to one of the trainee managers that put me onto the "pool expert". He suggested a product called "Splash" that is supposed to turn green water into blue within 24 hours. Colin got to the poolshop in Bellville to late yesterday so I will go to the one in Brackenfell today to get some. Hopefully I can report good news tomorrow! It is really useless having a pool if you can't swim in it and I am really starting to see why Colin has always been so adamant NOT to get one! I really have the greatest husband though, even though he was unhappy when I got the thing, he has been very good at trying to fix our "green" problem. I think he realised that the kids have great fun in the pool and we have some lovely pics to prove that. Here is one taken on Christmas day. Actually I can't get the photo to come in where I want it. What am I doing wrong?
Anyway, I am off the scrapping a bit later and later it will just be carting kids around again. Have a great day!

Reflections
I decided to water the garden this morning as it is supposed to be a very hot day, and as I was watching the hundreds of cars passing our house with parents dropping off their kids at the school, I couldn't help but realise just how blessed I am to have a husband like Colin. I basically get up in the morning, feed the dogs, get our tablets out, check that Andrews bag is ready for school, make myself a cup of coffee and climb back into bed! Colin gets the kids up, puts Andrews clothes out, makes his breakfast and takes Andrew to the bus. And if Colin is away for some reason, Michael takes Andrew to the bus, and just by the way, he also drops Richard and Robyn off at the high school! I am truly blessed with my husband and my kids!
Of course then I started looking around at the rest of the world and noticed the guinea fowls running around at the top of the field and it made me think of the cartoon "Roadrunner" that used to be on TV long time ago - the guinea fowl were running just at fast.
I had Jamie on my shoulder while watering the garden and she was happily "cheaping" away on my shoulder and then I also noticed the doves and other birds on and over the field. Their life is just as peaceful as mine! I had to watch Scruffy like a hawk though, as he just runs if he sees another dog or cat and with all the cars I really didn't want a dead dog.
Anyway, I start gym today and must admit that I am looking forward to it. Hopefully the first time of many.
